Stu is a freelance writer who specializes in wielding the natural poetry of language, even in the most technical writing.
Earning an M.F.A. in Creative Writing directly after undergrad, he strengthened a natural eye and ear for rhythm, tone, and narrative. After seven years of teaching high school English, he sought out a calmer life that would allow him to be home with his pets and have the dishes done, bed made, and house cleaned before his wife returned from work. Since transitioning to freelance writing, Stu’s work has followed his hobbies—space, music, sports, and lifelong learning.
Disc golfer by day and poet by night, you can find Stu at coffee shops, breweries, and concert venues around the Longfellow neighborhood of South Minneapolis. While his lifelong fandom of Minnesota sports teams has exposed him to decades of languishing mediocrity, it’s also made him appreciate heroic tales in which the underdog takes on the world.
