The Challenge
Universidad La Salle México needed a faster, more scalable way to build high-quality courses for its growing virtual campus
To serve thousands of learners across the country, the university runs a comprehensive Virtual Campus supported by its Laboratory for Content Creation and Educational Innovation. The team develops two core types of programs:
- Curricular courses for undergraduate, specialty, masters, and doctoral programs
- Continuing education courses for non-curricular professional development
Their legacy approach—creating online courses directly in the LMS—limited growth. Supplemental materials like PDFs, videos, and discussion forums were added manually, and the process varied from course to course. Interactivity was minimal, which reduced learner engagement. As demand increased, the team struggled to maintain quality, consistency, and efficiency.
The team needed a way to scale course development, build more interactive experiences, and ensure modern, responsive design for learners accessing content from any device or location. Articulate 360 offered the capabilities they were looking for.
The Answer
Articulate 360 AI helps the university deliver scalable, engaging online and hybrid courses
Today, Universidad La Salle México uses Articulate 360 AI to design and refresh online and hybrid curricula across multiple programs and specialties. The team also uses the platform for academic staff development, including training on responsible use of AI, LMS operations, and effective online assessment practices.
When courses require simulations, branched scenarios, or advanced assessments, the team turns to Storyline. These experiences reflect real-world situations, help learners practice decision-making, and drive stronger engagement than static online content.
For more modular, responsive courses that need to be updated quickly—such as digital skills training or regulatory content—the team uses Rise.
“We love Rise’s automatically responsive design,” says José Francisco Gutiérrez Garza, Dean of the Virtual Campus. “Rise also makes it easy to reuse sections and lessons in different courses, improving our efficiency and consistency across the online learning experience.”
Articulate 360’s AI Assistant boosts the efficiency of both authoring tools.
“We use AI Assistant to draft lesson content, assessment questions, and quiz feedback,” says Garza. Starting with strong first drafts shortens development cycles and lets the team focus their expertise on pedagogy and editorial refinement.
The team now has a reliable and efficient workflow for creating high-quality courses with AI. “With AI Assistant, we can enter a prewritten prompt, add key context about the program, and Rise does the magic, creating a quality course that aligns with our proposed learning objectives,” says Gutiérrez. Afterward, subject matter experts review the content, and designers align multimedia assets with institutional guidelines.
Unlocking Human Potential
Higher engagement, faster development, and a renewed perception of online learning
Universidad La Salle México has seen higher engagement, faster development, and a renewed perception of online learning. Since adopting Articulate 360, course development timelines have dropped dramatically.
“It used to take us weeks to create an initial prototype of a course,” says Gutiérrez. “With AI Assistant and Rise, we can produce first drafts in less than 10 minutes.” This speed allows the team to scale digital learning, publish more courses each year, and keep content current.
Engagement metrics have also improved. Participation and completion rates are higher than they were with the university’s previous tools. “Articulate makes the learning experience pleasant,” says Gutiérrez. “It’s polished, intuitive, and easy to navigate, which improves learning outcomes.”
A consistent visual identity and smoother user experience have raised the profile of online learning across the institution. The Virtual Campus is no longer viewed as a technical support team. It is recognized as a strategic partner in the university’s digital evolution, essential to both the quality and success of online programs.
This shift has strengthened collaboration across campuses. “With Articulate, students and faculty all have access to the same courses, regardless of location,” Gutiérrez explains. “It helps us stay connected, which is crucial for our success.”
With Articulate 360 AI, Universidad La Salle México creates intuitive online learning that improves outcomes, reduces development timelines, and connects students and faculty across its network of campuses.
