As the company’s internal center for capability development, the Hapag-Lloyd Academy translates the demands of a global shipping operation into training that reaches employees across all functions and regions. Daniel Jebakumar sits at the helm of content development at the company. His training program covers everything from pre-boarding and onboarding programs to functional skill-building, behavioral leadership development, cybersecurity awareness, and compliance training. In many cases, training requires multiple layers and modalities, with instructor-led sessions supported by pre-reads and supplemental materials.

Jebakumar uses it to accelerate instructional design, sharpen copy, and reduce the overhead of content iteration at every stage of development. Localization has become equally critical—a necessity for an organization with mandatory legal training requirements across multiple language markets.
