Nur fünf Personen bilden das Corporate-Learning-Team, das für die Schulung der Mitarbeitenden an den über 20 Krankenhäusern des Unternehmens verantwortlich ist. Um den immensen Schulungsbedarf zu decken, setzt das Corporate-Learning-Team seit 2015 Articulate ein, um professionelle, ergebnisorientierte Lerneinheiten für das gesamte Unternehmen zu erstellen. Dabei setzen sie für spezialisierte Schulungen auf die Zusammenarbeit mit Experten (SMEs) über Storyline und Review, für Softskills-Kurse eher auf Rise.

Dieser Ansatz hat zwar gut funktioniert, aber das Unternehmen erkannte, dass es bei der Effizienz noch Luft nach oben gab, insbesondere bei der Zusammenarbeit mit SMEs. Diese Fachleute verfügen über wertvolles Wissen, sind aber in der Regel ungeübt im Schreiben von Texten und der Didaktik. Das kann zu inkonsistenten Kursen führen, die entweder zu lang oder zu kurz sind und bei denen oft zentrale Elemente wie Zusammenfassungen fehlen. Außerdem können die Kurse an den Lernzielen vorbeischießen – was letztlich das größte Problem ist.

When Articulate’s AI features were released, the hospital system’s Senior Instructional Designer began experimenting with ways she could leverage them to increase productivity and pare down content. The organization had already been using other AI tools, such as ChatGPT, Copilot, and Claude, to accomplish this. She found that Articulate’s AI was particularly skilled at reducing large volumes of text effectively and generating quiz questions that fit learning goals, which significantly sped up the collaboration process with SMEs.

“To achieve better learning outcomes, we need concise content,” says the Senior Instructional Designer. “But we live in a clinical world, and text-heavy slides are a big issue for us. With Articulate’s AI features, we could quickly clean up text, rewrite copy, and bring in voiceover and other elements to improve understanding and knowledge retention.” 

She immediately noticed how Articulate’s AI features were built with e-learning in mind, which, when compared to other AI tools, improved the quality of the output and cut down on development time. “You have to prompt other AI tools, like ChatGPT, to rewrite things for an e-learning context, but Articulate’s AI features did this automatically,” says the Senior Instructional Designer. “This made my review time much quicker, and the accuracy was there.” 

Articulate’s AI image generation capabilities also saved the organization significant time. “Rather than spending hours sifting through an image library, we could type in a few descriptors and have an AI-generated image to fit our needs,” says the Senior Instructional Designer.

Overall, she estimates that Articulate’s AI features allow her to develop courses 18% faster. Her teammate, the organization’s Instructional Designer, echoes these sentiments. In particular, she appreciates the features’ built-in prompting capabilities, which have led to better results.

“With any AI tool, the output is only as good as the prompt,” says the Instructional Designer. “I love how Articulate’s AI features standardize prompting and give sample prompts, which helps users of all experience levels get good results quickly.”
