O Desafio
Keep pace with global client demand—without sacrificing training quality
Cognizant’s digital learning team builds and delivers training solutions for clients across multiple industries and regions. The team regularly builds high-complexity projects: compliance training for multiple global clients, system migration training, and role-based process training derived from detailed SOPs. The stakes are high. When a client has thousands of employees moving to a new enterprise software system or implementing a quality management program across continents, inconsistent training doesn’t just create confusion—it undermines the entire business transformation.
The breadth of that work creates a competing tension. Training must be both contextually accurate and genuinely creative to engage learners and reinforce information—yet development must move fast enough to meet project timelines across a global client portfolio. New team members must onboard quickly, review cycles must be efficient, and every iteration needs to preserve the original design’s learning integrity. Finding tools that can deliver flexibility without sacrificing speed—or quality without an expert-level ramp time requirement—is essential to Cognizant’s ability to serve clients at scale.
“Since we are dealing with multiple global clients, consistency is really crucial,” says Shikha Nasa, Learning & Development Professional. “Everybody should know the same process across different regions.”
A Solução
Immersive, responsive training that moves at the pace of its clients’ needs
Cognizant has found the right fit in Articulate 360—a software intuitive enough to ramp up new team members quickly, and flexible enough to handle everything from high-interactivity simulations to rapid-turnaround responsive training. “For us, the decision came down to flexibility and ease of use,” says Nasa of the company’s decision to choose Articulate. “It gives us a great balance between creating creative content, plus being able to move fast on the timelines.”
The digital learning team’s primary authoring tools are Storyline and Rise, and each serves a distinct purpose in their workflow. They choose Storyline for more complex, skills-based training—branching scenarios, interactive simulations, show me/try me formats, and game-based learning experiences. “[Storyline] is highly creative and efficient,” says Nasa.
Storyline stands out as the best choice for system migration training. When a client transitions from a legacy system to a new platform, Cognizant uses the app’s screen recordings and interactive features to build distinctive simulated environments so learners can navigate the new interface and practice real workflows without taking risks in the live production environment.
Rise is the team’s tool of choice when speed takes priority, particularly for training that needs to work seamlessly across different devices without rebuilding from scratch. “Rise is responsive and clean in design, and it works well across different devices,” says Nasa. “It really helps you in developing impactful learning solutions while maintaining the quality, plus helps you move faster.”
More recently, Articulate’s AI has changed how the team approaches early-stage development. Rather than starting from scratch on each new project, team members now use AI to assist with tasks like drafting initial screens, suggesting quiz questions, and generating voiceovers—freeing instructional designers to spend more time on experience design and less time on tactical content production.
“AI is actually helping teams to work faster,” says Nasa. “It’s like you’re not starting from scratch anymore. You can experiment more, focus more on creativity and experience design.”
Desenvolvendo o Potencial Humano
Training that changes how global workforces understand and apply their work
The clearest measure of Articulate’s impact at Cognizant is the quality and consistency of the training that reaches learners—particularly on high-stakes projects where inconsistency carries real business risk.
For example, the team used Storyline to build an integrated quality risk management program for a global pharmaceutical client. The game-based learning experience used guided prompts and branching scenarios to help learners work through real risk-based decisions and see how those decisions affected clinical trial outcomes. Before the training, the client’s teams understood their processes but lacked a shared framework for applying quality principles at the right steps. After completing the training, employees across roles could clearly communicate when and where to apply quality decisions, which led to more consistent risk documentation, stronger alignment with IQRM plans, and stronger cross-functional collaboration.
For the learners experiencing Cognizant’s training—many of whom are learning new systems, processes, or regulatory requirements—the ability to access consistent, well-structured training, at their own pace, on any device, makes the difference between a disorienting transition and a confident one.
With Articulate 360, Cognizant delivers consistent, high-impact training that empowers global workforces to apply complex processes, navigate new systems, and meet rigorous quality standards—across dozens of industries and regions.
[Articulate’s] AI is actually helping teams to work faster. It’s like you’re not starting from scratch anymore. You can experiment more, focus more on creativity and experience design.
