Storyline: What "Object Loses Focus" Means

Article Last Updated

This article applies to:

When you insert a data-entry field, Storyline automatically:

  1. Creates a variable for the field (ex. A text variable named “TextEntry”)
  2. Adds a new trigger to adjust this variable when the data-entry field (the object) loses focus.

A learner focuses on the data-entry field when they click or tab to it. When they click or tab to another object, the data entry field loses focus, and the trigger updates the variable with the typed value.

Note: This trigger is only for data-entry fields.
