You may find that a SmartArt Graphic in your presentation does not animate properly if you have set the custom animation to occur One by One (i.e., each object of the SmartArt Graphic animates individually).

Review the workaround below that pertains to the type of SmartArt Graphic that you're using:

SmartArt Graphic includes arrows

SmartArt Graphics that include arrows, such as Staggered Process, Basic Cycle, etc., may not animate as expected.  You can correct this.  Here's how:

1. Right-click the SmartArt Graphic in your presentation.
2. On the shortcut (context) menu that appears, scroll to Group, and select Ungroup.
3. Apply animations to each individual object of the ungrouped SmartArt Graphic.
4. Publish your presentation.

SmartArt Graphic includes duplicate bullet points

SmartArt Graphics with bullet points that contain duplicate text may not animate as expected.  You can correct this issue by changing your bullet points so there are no duplicates.

If your SmartArt Graphic must include duplicate bullet points, you can correct animation issues in this manner:

1. Right-click the SmartArt Graphic in your presentation.
2. On the shortcut (context) menu that appears, scroll to Group, and select Ungroup.
3. Apply animations to each individual object of the ungrouped SmartArt Graphic.
4. Publish your presentation.
