If you find that your courses aren't tracking as expected in your learning management system (LMS) when using Internet Explorer 9, it indicates a compatibility issue between your LMS and Internet Explorer. First, you'll need to contact your LMS provider to determine if Internet Explorer 9 is officially supported.

Depending on the response from your LMS provider, you may also find the following suggestions helpful:

  • If your content is delivered to users in an iFrame (you may need to ask your LMS provider about this), Internet Explorer 9 will force the mode of the parent (hosting) window onto the child (iFrame) window, which can then trigger a bug in the Adobe Flash Player. Your LMS provider may be able to solve this issue by adding <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=8" /> to the header of the parent (hosting) web page.
  • Configure Internet Explorer to use Compatibility View for your LMS content. Click here to learn how. Compatibility View can also be enforced through Group Policy by network administrators.
