After completing a course in Moodle, some versions of Moodle will show Presenter '09 courses as "suspended." This is currently listed as a bug in Moodle (bug ID MDL-19636).

The issue is that Moodle prominently displays the value that is passed to the LMS for cmi.core.exit. However, the intended use of cmi.core.exit is to indicate the reason that the SCO was last exited.

This can cause confusion, as many users see this as the course not being completed.

The SCORM specification states that cmi.objectives.n.status should be used to track the user's status. Presenter '09 will properly update this value in Moodle with one of the permitted values (passed, failed, complete, or incomplete), but Moodle does not display the value for cmi.objectives.n.status more prominently than cmi.core.exit.

We have developed a workaround for this issue so that Presenter '09 content will never pass a value for cmi.core.exit, which will cause Moodle to display only the value for cmi.objectives.n.status.

To work around the issue, do the following:

  1. Download this file.
  2. Unzip the file.
  3. Back up the existing SCORMFunctions.js file from each of the following locations on your system:
    C:\Program Files\Articulate\Presenter\players\template_scorm\lms
    C:\Program Files\Articulate\Articulate Quizmaker\Content\lms
    C:\Program Files\Articulate\Articulate Engage\content\lms
  4. Copy the new SCORMFunctions.js to the above locations.
  5. If prompted, select Yes to replace the existing file.
  6. Republish your content to SCORM.
  7. Upload your published SCORM package to Moodle.
