Why is my audio overlapping or duplicated in the published output?

Special characters
There is a known issue where in certain cases a presentation whose title contains accents or special characters will create two published output folders and the audio will overlap. To correct this behavior you would need to remove the offending character so that it publishes as expected.

After you have published your presentation you should be able to right click the presentation.xml file in the data folder and open it with NotePad. You should see a section like this:

title.png

You could modify that section so that it displays the title correctly if an accent is required.

You should also ensure that the publish path does not contain special characters.

PowerPoint 2007
There is a known issue where publishing a presentation using PowerPoint 2007 may result in your audio overlapping on some slides. To workaround this issue:

  1. Identify the slide where this issue occurs and note what slide the audio that is playing is coming from.
  2. In PowerPoint on the slide where you can hear the audio overlap and on the slide that the audio is coming from you will want to modify the animations you are using until the issue is resolved. There isn't a specific animation that will cause this issue so you will need to experiment with your animation types and sequence to resolve this issue.
