Zipped SCORM packages does not work in my LMS
If you receive an error when viewing or uploading your SCORM package to your LMS saying that it can’t find the manifest, or the package simply won’t display, the problem could be caused by how you zipped the file.
Some Learning Management Systems are unable to find the IMSManfiest.xml file if the IMSManfiest.xml file is not at the root of the zip file.
To correct this problem, you can do either of the following:
- Use the built-in ZIP feature on the Publish Successful dialog. It will automatically create a well formed zip file. You will get the Publish Successful dialog after each publish.
- If you manually ZIP the output files, make sure that you only ZIP the contents of the output folder. Don’t include the output folder itself. Including the output folder itself will cause the IMSManifest.xml file to be one level deep in the ZIP file and will cause errors in some Learning Management Systems.
