Joe, it sounds like you're well on your way to building your scene... I just came across this screencast from @evolve4success & wanted to post here because I don't think it was shared earlier. He has another variation for building out the room:

I didn't see that Jeanette. Thanks for posting. I'm impressed with how many different ways everyone came up with to create a room. I applied some more of the tips and here is what I have. Main change I made was adding a side wall using Tom's tips. I also added a shape with a gradient over the side wall to add some more depth like Jeanette suggested for the floor. I'm still plan on doing some more tweaking but this gives me a great base to start from. Thanks all.
