Hello, I recently wanted to try out Presenter 09 in order to try it out to see if this was an application that our company could use to change our current training into an elearning environment. I tried it for a week and suddenly I can't open Presenter 09 or Powerpoint! When I double click it nothing happens! Engage and Quizmaker open fine (same with mocrosoft word and excel) but nothing that involves presenter or powerpoint! I have tried to repair microsoft home and office with no changes, when I try to open a presentation or even just a normal ppt file nothing happens! Can anyone help me? Thanks so much in advance!!!!!

It certainly sounds like your version of PowerPoint has become corrupt. Sometimes performing a reinstall of MS Office instead of a repair will ensure all of the Office componets get installed correctly.

Hi Dave and welcome to the forums! Sorry to hear about the difficulties. Burton could be right about performing a repair installation of Office. However, here's something else you can try.
1. Uninstall Articulate Studio '09. 2. See if you can then open PowerPoint. 3. If you can, check for any disabled items in PowerPoint. Enable disabled items in PowerPoint – Articulate Presenter ‘09 Knowledge Base 4. Enable any disabled items. 5. Reinstall Presenter. See if that resolves your issue.

Hey, Thanks for all the help, re-installing Office fixed the problem but I still get the occasional error message regarding Articulate Communicater as an Add-In, I'm not sure what that is. It doesn't seem to affect anything though. Thanks for the tips I really appreciate it!

If you receive an error stating one of the Articulate Add-ins has stopped working, selecting No will ensure the Articulate Add-in does not get disabled. This is Microsoft's way of preventing an endless loop of corrupt code from executing. Some other Add-ins, if not disabled before running PowerPoint, could put PowerPoint in an endless loop of corruption. This is why you are given the option to disable an add-in when and error was detected. It is recommended that you always select No to disable an Articulate add-in.

Hi Tal,
This just means that Windows didn't save the installation package on your machine. If you need to uninstall the software, download the package from the link below: Articulate - Free Trials After you fill in your information, you'll be presented with the option to download the EXE. Just save the EXE to your Desktop and then run it. When the wizard starts, you'll have the option to uninstall the software. Select that option, restart your computer, & then reinstall the Articulate software from the EXE that you just downloaded.
