Hi - I'm looking for new PowerPoint template ideas to use in course design. Does anyone have a template to share? I saw the template Tom posted in his blog and really liked his concept of sharing our creative ideas online. Just looking for some new ideas. Anyone want to share some?

Hi Patti - Do you have a particular course in mind or are you just looking for design ideas? Sometimes it's easier to start with a topic and brainstorm design ideas around the content.

I'm building a course on Emergency Response for our new hire orientation process - covering topics like hurricane readiness, fire safety, evacuation procedures, etc. I like the red white & blue theme used by Globus Medical as shown in their course posted on the Community Showcase - but I don't know how to build the red tab graphic across the bottom of the page- theirs has a 3D glow to it. just looking for template/graphic ideas.

Hi Patti-
I quickly put together 3 possible directions for you. Whenever I create a custom course, I try and pull elements from the content and use those elements in my theme. Your topic, Emergency Response, is broad and the more we can narrow which area(s) of ER you're focusing on, we could probably come up with even more specific elements. In these three design comps, I used 3 themes: Health card/job aid, xray and ambulance/er colors. The bullets for the last two were based medical icons and we could use any number of medical imagery. If any of these ideas work, let me know and I'll send you the source files. Here are a few links to other elearning examples: Chapman Alliance: Bryan Chapman, LMS Short List, Blended Learning - Interaction Elearning examples -- infographics, simulations, and online courses Making Change Hope that helps, David Last edited by DavidAnderson : 07-30-2009 at 10:22 AM. |
