Default Encoder vs. Sorenson Squeeze

Encoded the same videos using the two products -- starting with 3 minutes of 720x480 avi video and encoding to 512k (480kb video, 32kb mono audio) 540x360 flv file using two pass VBR.

Squeeze takes of the order of 10 minutes, Encoder took more than 7 hours ( I am not totally sure - I eventually stopped it) for one of the videos -- of the order of 40 times + multiplier!

Am a doing something wrong or is this the best that Encoder can do?

Default Re: Encoder vs. Sorenson Squeeze

Hi Brian,

In my experience, I have generally found the Articulate Video Encoder to be extremely fast although I have not used Sorensen Squeeze. (I have compared with On2 Flix Pro encoder). Are you finding it slow with all the videos you are encoding? I would recheck your settings perhaps or submit a case to support and we'll take a look at the video and see if we have similar problems encoding it.

Regards
