I need to create a survey and a test in QuizMaker that will be put into Presenter. The final presenter presentation will be published to SCORM for our LMS. Is there a way to have a survey and a test in one presentation? Can a survey and test be combined into one Quizmaker test?

Mike, welcome to the forums!
From my experience this is not possible, but there may be some creative alternatives that folks in here can provide.

Hi, Brian!
My experience is just the opposite. You CAN combine a quiz and a survey in one. It's been a while since I tested this in our Saba LMS, but the survey questions were counted as correct automatically (and were counted toward the final score and % correct). If I get a chance early this week, I'll test it out again . . . Best! - Gerry |

Update . . .
Well, I was partly right . . . (the memory is the second thing to go--now if I can only remember what the first thing was ).The survey questions did get sent to the LMS (except for the Explanation type) and were recorded by the LMS. They DID NOT, however, count in determing the final passing score. In my 15-question quiz (11 regular quiz questions, 4 survey questions) only the 11 regular quiz questions counted toward my final score. See the attached JPG--it shows how the data was recorded in our Saba LMS. Since one of survey questions was Explanation, it was not passed to the LMS, the other three were (which I've highlighted in yellow). Note, however, that their result is not "correct" or "wrong"--it is "neutral." Should be easy for us to extract the survey question data from the LMS. Hope this helps. - Gerry Last edited by GerryWaz : 08-13-2006 at 07:51 PM. |

Last update today . . .
Was also able to do a survey-only QM AICC quiz in the LMS. Just completing the three-survey question quiz that I created gave me a completion in the LMS--provided I set it up right. Had to have the quiz set up as a survey in QM (couldn't do it as a quiz since I couldn't set the passing score to 0% when it's a graded quiz in QM) and I had to have my AICC CSF files set up correctly, but it worked. Got a completion in the LMS just my taking the survey. All data was properly recorded in the LMS. Cool . . . - Gerry |

I like that the survey questions are passed to the LMS but do not count towards the score of the quiz. I don't know how, or why, I missed this before, but I will be sure to be more thorough in the future. Thanks for providing the screenshot.

Thanks, Brian! We're in this together to share--one reason I like this forum.
Of course, results could vary by LMS . . . always test. All the best! - Gerry |
