Hello All,
A recent dumbass at my work deleted the project files of my quizmaker quizzes. I was wondering if at all possible, that I could reverse engineer the quizzes somehow and get my aqm files back or something along those lines. Im not trying to make my own quizmaker program but just trying to get my quiz files back. Regards, Bill |

I can't tell you if you can reverse engineer the output files and get back your original AQ file, somehow I doubt it.
But what I can advise you on is this - consider creating a standardized template in Word that your questions get written into first, then those questions get copied over into a AQ template. This is what I did, and it has the following advantages; 1. If you lose the AQ files, you still have the quiz content. Big plus! 2. You can email other people in your organization a copy of the Word document and they can create quizzes as well, then email it back and you simple copy the content over into the AQ template that you use. Matt. |

Thanks for the reply Matt. I didn't think there was anyway to get the project files back but it was worth a shot to ask before I start re making my 4 quizes with 80 plus questions each..
I do have the questions in a word document though so thats good. When you speak of a template does this mean you can copy your entire template over to quizmaker at once or is it just one question at a time like I am doing now? |

I think it's one question at a time--no import facility.
It would be nice if this was possible. Give a Word template to your SMEs and then import their Word doc as a quiz. We asked for this a while back. Might be good to add an enahncement request on it here. - Gerry |

Just my two cents after a similar experience but with different software, ALWAYS backup your work. One thing that I like about Quizmaker is that it makes it easy to back up your work by publishing your project files. This won't help you now but possibly in the future. If you have access to a network drive or a separate partition it is also a good idea to store your backup on a separate drive just in case.

While we're talking backup, I tend to be a bit obsessed with it (maybe overly so
). Here are the tools in my backup arsenal:
