Default "Standalone", non-LMS quizzes

I've been asked by a client to priduce a standalone Quiz on products.
It will come after a Conference Call.
They have no LMS, so I am assuming the best way to do this is create a "Web" compilation.
Is there any clever or simple way to ensure we track who has taken it?
I cannot get the email option to work on my PC, but I am assuming that getting them to email the results to a central point, (there are only 8 Quiz-takers) is a sensible way to do this.

Basically folks I am after some "best practice" for using Quizmaker in stanalone mode. I have used it within LMS/Articulate 09 Presenter modules, but would love any guidance that can be provided here.

Thanks
Bruce

Hi Bruce,

Is this going to be just a one-off quiz for 8 users or something that will happen on a regular basis?

It's a one-off (at the moment) - following a Webex, to check if they have actually listened

If it is a one-off, why not take out a free trial of Articulate Online? It runs for 30 days and you and your client will be able to run off elaborate reports easily and quickly. Plus you'll be able to publish the quiz direct from Quizmaker to Articulate Online. You'll even be able to customize the account with their logo etc.

You can set up your trial here in just a few seconds:

Articulate - Free Trials

Of course, your client may be so impressed, they'll want to subscribe to it after the trial has finished ! But if they don't, the account will just cease to work.

Otherwise, the email should work but there are occasional issues from some machines so it is always better to go the LMS route if you can.

If you are up for a little tweaking, then some of our customers are successfully sending Quizmaker results via PHP, or using a database, but these methods are not supported by Articulate. You can learn more here:

Articulate '09 - Email Results Tutorial - PHP
Quiz to database, instructions and code

There are also some LMSs like Dokeos on which you can store content for free provided that you don't go over a certain Mb limit. It won't be customized for your client but it will be user-access protected.

Regards

With a stand-alone quiz, you can also branch the learner off to another web page, outside of Quizmaker, where the learner can record their completion.

If they don't pass the quiz, they don't get to this page to acknowledge their completion

Depending on what technologies you have at your disposal, this could be a simple web e-mail submission form, or if you use something like Lotus Notes that can identify who there are via SSO, a simple button click to record their completion.

Hi Myrak, and welcome to the forums! I'm not Dave but I saw your post ... here's a page you might find helpful for evaluating the pricing: Articulate Online - Compare Plans
