Exclamation using quik maker html link from Flash to LMS

Help!! I have built a Flash CS3 action script 2.0 course using the XGBook 3D component. I then built a quiz in Quik Maker 2.0 and created a button within flash linking to the quiz maker html page. Everything works except the quiz will not submit for grading to the LMS. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Question Re: using quiz maker html link from Flash to LMS

I decided to take out the the button to the html page in my flash book and place the quiz outside the module as a stand alone. But now that I have published the quiz to lms and posted on my lms it does not track results. I tested some other CBT's on my lms and they seem to be tracking the reskts fine. Any clue hat I might be doing wrong? I have checked everything I can think of and it still doesn't track result...

You may want to check out a couple of these knowledge base articles: LMS - Articulate Quizmaker ’09 Knowledge Base

A couple of reasons I see often that cause content not to track properly in the LMS are:
  1. Start page is not set correctly - In your LMS your start page shoud point to the "index_lms.html" file.
  2. Completion status was not set correctly for your LMS when publishing from QuizMaker - There are several completion statuses you can set when publishing content for the LMS, and different combinations seem to work with different LMSs. For example, we have to use "Passed / Failed" or our LMS will not record the results. On other LMSs this might need to be set to some other status.
Hope this helps!

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, I have been using "index_lms.html" and I just tried switching my publishing property from "passed/failed" to "complete/incomplete" and republished and the results still do not post. Any other suggestions??

Probably not the case but are there any special characters in the quiz answers that your LMS may not like?

For example, we use Saba as our LMS and had a problem with the % sign.

As the article discusses, we always find it helpful to use a browser sniffer (we use HTTP Analyzer) to help see where the problem.

If we see the data being sent back right to the LMS by the quiz, and not being acknowledged correctly as being processed, we start looking at the LMS or network.

If the quiz doesn't report back right to the LMS, then we start looking at the content.

Happened just this week. One of users had an issue with a course not completing. Fired up the AP course in the LMS and watched with the browser sniffer. Saw that the quiz results were not posting back correctly. The user was still using AP5/QM2 and we knew it could not handle hidden slides in the PowerPoint (known issue) and suggested he look for that. Sure enough, there was a hidden PPT slide and once he removed it, the quiz reported back just fine.

(Of course, Articulate addressed this for us with the new AP09, which can now handle hidden PPT slides.)
