I am using Articulate 5. Trying to insert a Captivate so that it launches in a new browser (have to do so, because the Captivate was recorded very large).
I cannot get the Captivate navigation controls to show up. I have 2 Captivate files, one with skin, one not. I tried to publish only with the skin and then add the other swf as suggested here -- How To Add A Captivate Movie To Articulate Presenter but it did not work -- only the controls showed up with no other swf. Any suggestions? I am tearing my hair out! Thanks. |

Are you testing the content online? If not that would be my first suggestion. If you are publishing for LMS I would test the content in your LMS or publish for the web and test it on a web server.

Hi Justin,
I did publish it to the web, but did not test it on a web server, only locally. I will try that and let you know. --Sheryl |

Did you load the captivate.swf files in the correct folder (data/swfs/) after you had published the course? Otherwise all you see is the skin file w/out your movie. You need to add the movie files to the SCORM zipped file in the right folder.

Karina,
Can you tell me exactly how to do that? I thought I put them in the right place, but did not touch the SCORM files. --Sheryl |

Check out this nice post: How To Add A Captivate Movie To Articulate Presenter
I can't remember where I first read about this--but it was either here or on a captivate help site. Google is indispensible for finding good help! I just typed "add captivate movie to articulate" & up came multiple offerings. The key is to remember that you're adding files to the SCORM zip file. So you're basically opening the winzip file and adding the swfs exactly as the screen caps in daveperso's instructions show. |
