At Articulate, we want to do more than make great software. Our mission is to make you an e-learning hero, so we put together a 46-page ebook entitled The Insider's guide to Becoming a Rapid E-Learning Pro.

It's yours at no charge, and you'll also get practical, real-world tips from The Rapid E-Learning Blog.

Usability 101... put as few obstacles in the user's way to obtain content. I got the email blast from Articulate announceing the eBook. I click the link and i get a pop-up (that isnt resizable ) and NO eBOOK!!

From an outside perspective, say i wanted to share this with VP of Professional Services at my company... it looks like FeedBurner marketing BS! I'm not registering at some site (that i'm not interested in) just for a eBook produced by a compnay that i am interested in.

I agree with you. It should be as easy as possible for the user.

As for the feed, we sent it out and the system shut down. I just tested it and it looks like the ebook downloads. I've gotten some confirmations from others. Let me know if you have any problems getting the ebook.

Thanks for sharing your perspective, BSD.

Feedburner is the email delivery service (and RSS) we use. It is not marketing BS, though I can see how the pop-up might look that way.

It’s just how you need to verify your email address in the pop-up window. Feedburner (now owned by Google) will not spam you, nor will we.

seems to work differently from Firefox than IE... i use Firefox when on the board but have IE as default for testing purposes. Don't get the email verification when using IE.

Thanks, BSD. I see that in IE6, too. We'll try to fix that. Thanks for letting us know.

By the way, if anyone has trouble subscribing to the blog via email, you can also subscribe via RSS and still get the free ebook via RSS.

Got to admit, I was a bit disappointed with the usability of all this. I felt like I was on a treasure hunt between various emails for a while and got very sceptical when I saw the Feedburner stuff. It was only a deep-rooted faith in Articulate that kept me going.

Still, thanks for the free book!
