Hi i am trying to change the stage/slide width like the example that is done here http://www.articulate.com/articulate_online.html in Alli's 3 minute demo. In slide 3 the left nav bar minimizes and the whole slide appears on screen approx 1024x768. How is this done with Presenter??

In the template set the browser to view at optimal size.
In slide properties manager, set view to no side bar. After you publish, then go into the data>presentation.xml and edit the x,y coordinates. I played around with them to get a similar look on a similar sized .swf. ![]() |

Or better yet.... (just learned this from one of our flash guys)
Insert the .swf into the slide via Articulate. Then right click on the swf and you get a control box where you can modify the swf. ![]() |

What we did to produce those (in Camtasia) was the following:

Also, the curious side of me wonders how it works publishing the movie at 20 FPS... I thought the general rule of thumb was 30 FPS, or whatever matches the frame rate of Presenter. Thanks for clarifying!

Hey Brian-
The 2 left arrow clicks are just to get the alignment exactly right in the published output -- we're perfectionists here -- so you may not actually see any movement of the Flash movie placeholder in PowerPoint. As for the FPS, you're right that the general rule of thumb is 30 FPS, but we just liked the results with 20 FPS better.

Gabe,
What screen capture program did Alli use? What was her screen resolution during capture; 1024 by 768 or 800 by 600? Could you have one of your techs tell me why my own screen capture tests in Camtasia at 5fps, 10fps, and 15fps don't make the voice speed up or the mouse clicks? Thank you Gabe. Rock on! ShaneSw |

Sorry Gabe; have a senior moment.
Now I see it was Camtasia. It looks like she has her monitor set to 1024 and just resized the browser down to the 980 she needed. All of the content on her screen looked so big, though, that I thought she might have recorded her screen at 800, then forced the 980 size during production, making for bigger visuals. Thanks, G. Regards Shane |
