That was excellent Overview for me Gabe.. worked 1st Time! One thing though... I wonder if having it at 980 x560 will increase the size of the flash file? Also.. Even though mine was Nearly perfect.. i still noticed on the left side a slight gap anyway ill live with that |

980 x 560 may increase the size of the flash file, but by rendering the flash at 20 fps vs. 30 fps you are cutting down a lot of the size of the file right there.
The gap on the left side is a very easy fix: Just go back to the slide in your ppt deck that you imported the movie, left click the flash file to select it, then use the left arrow key on your keyboard to bump the movie over a couple of times. Publish your presentation again and if you still have a slight gap go back and tweak it a little more.

And, just to tack on to doofdaddy's advice: I always start a recording with the intentions to save it in the same size as it was recorded. Saving it as any other size (even if it's only a few pixels!) degrades the quality of the video more than what I'm willing to live with.
So, basically, whatever I need my end size to be is what I record in, even if it means I can't capture the entire screen. I'd say that there are a lot of folks who might disagree with this, but in my opinion it is the only way to keep maximum video quality in your recordings.

I just wanted to say how great this post was for me. For software tutorials being able to use more screen space has proved immensely useful. I am regularly (daily) producing Camtasia recordings in 980x560 or higher (and then zooming in to 980x560). Either way the quality of the final production is amazing when embedded into AP using the tip. Thanks again

I was using these instructions to rid myself of the 'trail marks' I'd get when inserting a Camtasia movie into Articulate - worked great! But the problem I'm having now is the audio. I've recorded the audio via Audacity and input into my camtasia movie, and also using Camtasia itself, when I put the course in the LMS, the sound comes through distorted. You can understand the speaker, but it is distracting, and sounds like poor audio quality... Hoping there's a solution to resolve this?? ![]() |

Hi paypar,
I am not sure if you imported the Audacity audio into Presenter on top of the Camtasia movie or into it. If you are importing audio into Presenter, then you should try and import WAV files using the parameters in this article: General audio issues in Presenter ‘09 - Articulate Presenter ‘09 Knowledge Base Using anything else can create bad quality published audio. Regards
