Hi Everyone,
We have discovered a bug in the latest version of Chrome 7 that can cause the following features not to work in published courses: LMS tracking, Web Objects, email reporting, report printing. Chrome 7 is the only browser with this bug. Other browsers like IE, Firefox, Safari, Opera and even previous versions of Chrome are unaffected. We are in communication with the Google Chrome team, asking that they make fixing the issue a priority. If interested, you can view the geeky details here. This is direct from the Chrome bug database: Issue 57986 - chromium - REGRESSION: Flash integration with fscommand does not work in Chrome 7 beta - Project Hosting on Google Code Once we have more information on the bug we will make sure that we update you. Update: The Google/WebKit teams are currently working on a fix for the issue. To see the communication on the issue check this updated thread in the WebKit bugbase: https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45679

I think it would be helpful in this posting to include this link to a temporary solution: Bug in Google Chrome version 7 can cause issues in published content – Articulate Presenter ’09 Knowledge Base
I believe it works but I have to restart the webserver to get the cache flushed to get the client to see the fix (and flush the cache on the client as well).

Thanks Deb,
And as an FYI, we heard from the Chrome team and they are trying to release the fix for the issue as early as this week: Issue 57986 - chromium - REGRESSION: Flash integration with fscommand does not work in Chrome 7 beta - Project Hosting on Google Code

Good news. Google just released update 7.0.517.44 that contains a fix for the issue. You can get the update by going to 'About' in Chrome.

Yay Google Chrome team! I have upgraded to the latest version 7.0.517.44 and can confirm our SCORM packages are playing nice with our LMS.

My packages are now loading okay in Chrome unless someone holds down the CTRL button to override pop up blocking software. I'm using Moodle 1.9.9, but am wondering if this is a Chrome issue or an LMS issue. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?
Thanks, Todd |
