Default Hot on the Heels of "Bucket and Logs"...

So,
Hot on the heels of the "Bucket and Logs" post, I would like to try and use standard PowerPoint and Articulate functionality for a scenario description.

The idea I had was a "Star Wars Introduction" look and feel - I am failing miserably
The best I have been able to do is this - Screenr - @BrucUK: Attempt at a "Star Wars" PowerPoint effect
1> Create a Text Box - text centre-aligned
2> Put test in with an ever-increasing number of words on each line going downwards.
3> Apply .ppt 3-D rotation preset "Rotation Relaxed", and make the Perspective Field of View setting 100%
4> Use the "Crawl Out" effect (upwards).
5> I place the Text Box below the bottom of the slide, and when run, the animation appears, and goes upto the top of the screen and dissappears.

Unfortunately it's the whole box that moves, and while people would know what it is (meant to be..), it's not good enough. Even though it's on the slowest speed, it's also too fast.
The answer here may be "Go away Bruce and stop being silly, you obviously have too much time on youur hands..", but I thought I'd ask!
Bruce

Hey Bruce! Fun challenge! Here is one way to do it:
Screenr - @jeanettebrooks: Experimenting with a Star Wars style text effect in #PowerPoint
I've attached the file for you, in case you'd like to unpack it and take a look.

LOL!
Once again I bow before far superior firepower...
Brilliant - I was close, but not close enough...
1> I have been using and worse still supporting PowerPoint since v1, and I never knew you could extend the timeline like that.
2> I think we all often forget about "layering" - the way you made the text "fade out" is excellent, out-of the box thinking.

Thanks - I am not sure this solution can be bettered!
I have been weighed and measured, and found wanting.....

Great thread! Reminds me of how powerful AP can be with some creative thinking. Here's my contribution. Played with this over my sandwich, and got me excited about my next course project.

Total Jedi material! Thanks for sharing! I like how you made the Shrink animation go all the way down to 0 - good way to get rid of the need for the gradient box. Liked the final slide too

Hi, kimeleon131:

Yeah. That was me. Articulate showed me the error of my ways. Now I welcome my new alien overlords.

I didn't save the original PowerPoint, but you can even have the text fade into the stars if you want by adding the torn paper effect. Here's a quick screenr tutorial. Screenr - @JasonFane: @tmiket @jeanettebrooks When torn Paper meets Star Wars. Cue Light Sabers. I didn't mention it in the tutorial, but I would use the fly-out effect to make the text move up and off the screen. Just change the direction to up and add some time. This ensures it moves off completely.

What's interesting was I was wondering how to do this effect the other day (its somewhat complicated), and if it wasn't for what was shown to me on here, I never would of figured this out. To think...someone came up with this effect years ago....just amazing.
