Can someone provide advice on this problem?
When lesson is launched, the player appears, but content does not. The progress bar isn't even showing up - only the gray screen. System in use is a fairly new Dell PC (Windows), using Internet Explorer. Could it be a browser setting, or even a firewall? Thanks for any help! |

Hi. I have only used the evaluation copy of this program so I am not an expert. However, I have had the same problem when trying to view publications that I have uploaded onto a server on the Internet; The soluation is to make sure that the publication is uploaded in binary form. If not, you just get the grey screen as you mention. When uploading files via an FTP program you normally have the choice of binary or other in which to upload your files. If of course you are getting this problem when viewing a publication on your local PC ie. a publication stored on the pc that you are using to view it, then it must be something else.

Thanks, but I don't think that's the problem. You see, it is only with this specific student, and not others. For example, I can go to the same lessons and properly view them with no problems.

No. You can go to www.driversedusa.net, then click the Demos page. I can see the lessons fine, but this particular student only sees the player (browser) but no course content. In other words, the content is not downloading. I can only think it has something to do with the student's computer, like a security or firewall issue.

Hi Salz. It is always frustrating when trying to troubleshoot playback on individual machines. These are two things I would try:
Off the subject, your demo gives me way too many teenage flashbacks (scary) . Do you know if they still play "Red Asphault" in the drivers ed classes of California high schools? That was the feature film in the '80s when I took the class there.HTH, Phil |

Hey, you might be pleased to learn that I too cannot see your demos !
I just get a blank grey screen, no preloader, nothing. It just says Done at the bottom left hand corner of my browser which happens to be IE7. I can see many other Articulate presentations but not all. I have found on three or four occasions when looking at some of the demos or examples mentioned on the forum which gave the same blank grey screen. I shall try and do some more testing and let you know. |

Uninstalling and reinstalling Flash does not resolve the problem; I have Norton Antivirus and turning off auto-protect or worm detection does not resolve the issue either. I am not sure how one is supposed to turn off the firewall with Norton; I have not Windows firewall as Norton has deactivated that. However, I can see other Articulate 5 presentations no problem, so I am not sure it is a firewall problem.
This one for example courtesy of brand468 http://www.c-cam.se/info/c-cam/player.html or this one http://www.stlsportsmedicine.com/int...cl/player.html courtesy of jbrowdy. but not yours at this address: http://www.driversedusa.net/demos/Sa...ty/player.html Maybe there are some spaces or strange characters in the html address? which are not getting read properly? |
