I thought it would be a good idea to create a thread where we can discuss new players, ideas for players, and issues regarding players.
We can start with the one I recently posted: Free Community Articulate Skin | Frame; Entered. If you have any problems, ideas, etc just post 'em here!

Hi Sudhir. Welcome to the forums!
It sounds like you don't have Studio '09 Update 5 installed. Can you please update it using the link in my signature? After that, you shouldn't have any problems installing the package.

When I click on the Blog link I get a "glassyplayer.ZIP" not an installable Articualte "glassyplayer.artpkgs". If you unzip, you then need to figure out where the files are to be installed. Any ideas? Thanks Cheers Gazzzz |

Hi James,
I watched Dave Mozealous screenr then I renamed the downloaded file from "glassyplayer.ZIP" to "glassyplayer.artpkgs" - then was recognised by Artculate and it installed well. thanks Cheers Garry |

Hi Gazzz,
If you download a community interaction or player, you may find that the file downloads with the extension .artpkg.zip. To install a community interaction, the extension needs to be .artpkg. To update the .artpkg.zip file, you simply need to remove the .zip from the file name. After fixing the file extension, just double-click the file and it should install as expected.

Looking at the Articulate Skin that onEnterFrame has created (which I do like!), it seems that using the SDK it is possible to change the slide area within the player "size". Or is this an optical illusion?
Would it be possible to create a full width slide (no sidebar) with a 2:1 ratio with a customized navigation bar below? If so, how does this tie in with Articulate Presenter 09 only supports PowerPoint 07 OnScreenShow 4:3? Also what would happen when Engage and QuizManager outputs are imported into a new size slide area? Answers and comments would be much appreciated but I am not a flash programmer, so how todo it answers will be beyond my understanding! Also this is a theoretical question based on a client requirement. (I was about to tell them impossible until I saw this very timely new thread in the Forum.) From a learning perspective, I don't think it is wise for my client to exclude the sidebar functionality for all the learning material they might have developed.

Nice work. Though I do demand royalties for some initial inspiration. ![]() Serious question--in light of this great article and techniques by Dave M. ( How to Get Perfect Screenshots in Presenter ’09 - Articulate – Word of Mouth Blog ), what's the largest screen cap image that can be inserted with no scaling? Thanks! Best.

Yes Gerry you deserve part of the credit for helping to inspire me!
Liz, you are not imagining things I did indeed push the slide size up a tad. There is not actually anything in the SDK that enables this... I just did some hacking till I figured it out. The parts of the Articulate player that make up the background and frame etc kinda restrict how large or small you can make the slide. They are fair bit wider then tall so you always have some empty areas on either side... :-( You could push the slide size up and max out the height if you had no controls or they were all on the side... controls that automagicly hide might be nice too. As for the actual sizes and ratio I am not sure what the new size is... should be able to measure it with a something like SnagIt. But the ratio is the same.

Anyone else try this new wonderful template with IE6? I'm seeing a possible issue there.
(Believe it or not, we're still using IE6 . Next year our company may finally enter the modern browsing world and move to IE8.)What I'm seeing with IE6 is that when you click on the course outline and then click off, the left most part of the slide gets cut off when the slide shifts back after the outline closes. Since AP09 says it works with IE6 or later, am wondering if this is something that can be addressed . . .
