Hi swrdfghtr,

I have used some inexpensive green clothing before to test short chromakey videos, and it seems to work Ok.
It was some time ago, and now your nice presentation maked me interested to do some more testing
I have seen the foam cloth here:
http://store.yahoo.com/cinemasupplies/greenscreenm.html
but i haven found it here in Sweden yet
I use Vegas Video for editing but i have never used a "telepromter", seems to be a interesting thing to get

Not sure where you could source it internationally. I actually found the blue cloth to be a bit easier to work with. It does limit you on the clothing you can wear, a bit, since blue is obviously more common than electric green, but it's less sensitive to the shadows you get with a less-than-professional lighting rig.

I got my prompter from www.prompterpeople.com and have been very happy with it. I got their least expensive model; I already have a 3CCD prosumer camcorder from Panasonic, and the prompter hooked right up to it, and a PC, and has been awesome. It literally cut my filming time by 60% or more since I rarely wind up doing retakes, now. It certainly made the "talking head" aspect of the video much more practical.

Hi,
Ok, thats good information, i think i read some place that green was better for DV camera use? I will do some tests with blue also
Wow, that seems to be a great telepromter.
I will try to keep the costs down and for a start and try to build one myself for testing, i found this link:
http://www.creativepro.com/story/feature/22302.html
Do you use AP notes when you use the promter or is it better to use some special software?
Or do you think it is better to record the video first and use use "sync animation" afterward?
Best regards
Christer

Dunno about "better," I certainly had an easier time with blue in the video editing software.

I use the software that came with my teleprompter - I use a wireless handheld remote to control the speed of the scrolling text.

You can't "sync animation," unfortunately, with just a video. I capture the audio (for the video portions) in-camera, so the final FLV file has both video and audio. The only way to sync animation then is to lay in a blank WAV file that the animation can sync to; you'll notice in my sample that the slides with talking-head video *have no animation* as a result, because creating the empty WAV and whatnot was just too time-consuming.

Hi,
Ok, i see what you mean, i did another test:
I recorded a short video on my DV recorder and then make a Mp3 audio and from it.
Then i rendered a FLV without video, and imported that to presenter window.
Imported the audio file to the slide containing the animation and then sync the animations.
Seems to work but maybe there could be sync problems with audio and video for longer files, i dont know?
And of coarse it takes some extra time, so i will do a request for animation sync in AP now

doofdaddy,

I used the online option for clipart from PPT. What I typically do is search people or business. Then when I find the image I like, I open the properties and search the style. This gives me a whole group of potential images to break apart and mash up.

Do a search for "style 1382." This only works from the online section.

I am looking for ways to improve my work here. Any suggestions would be helpful.
