Help! I understand how to switch out the SWF file when I publish locally, How to I do this and publish to Articulate Online. As I understand the process, when you manual upload you upload a particular file (.art6 file extension). So, how do you get the SWF background file switched out?
Thanks

HI Ben. Keep in mind that an ART6 file is nothing more than a ZIP file (just the extension was changed). You can unzip the file, swap out the background file and zip it back up. You should then be good to go.

Hi there.Iam wondering if anyone can share the actionscript (just a copy of the commands/script in notepad or what have you) so that I can better understand what it is that is required in the SWF to ensure that the rollover buttons behave as expected when hyperlinks are placed on them in PowerPoint.
The various demos havedescribed that the buttons need to be converted to movies in Flash but nobody thus far has explained what the Flash AS is for. I would like to have a better understanding of this - the concept behind the AS and why additional programming in Flash is needed for the buttons to behave properly. I ask because I use SWISH not Flash. SWISH handles AS directly so if I had the script along with some guidance as to the purpose of the AS, that would be most helpful for me. Rollover buttons for what I do is absolutely essential so I would really appreciate gaining a better understanding of this workaround so future modules I produce can have this kind of functionality (tho smoke and mirrors) embedded seamlessly. |

I attached the 3 frames containing ActionScript.
There were a lot of extra steps taken to get PowerPoint and Flash to play well. The issue is how PPT handles the Flash object layer. Normally you could include a simple button with rollovers but that's not the case to simulate a button rollover at the bottom of the PowerPoint layer. I'm sure someone can better explain the technical reasons so much extra code is required. If you'd prefer the code in a text file please let me know. I'm happy to copy that over. David |
