I need to insert a hyperlink in a slide that will open a SWF in a new window because the SWF is too wide to fit in the confines of the ppt. I know how to insert a hyperlink, and it works just fine if I'm in PowerPoint slideshow mode. However, if I publish the file as an Articulate Presenter file, the link doesn't work anymore. I get an error message stating:
"Cannot find 'file:///O:/Jim/DM%20Report.swf'. Make sure the path or internet address is correct" Does anyone know how I can get this swf to open in a new window from Presenter??!?! |

Use the web object function...You can set the web object to open outside of Presenter. The web object is just an html file....In your case you will need an html file that has an embedded swf/flash file in it...Your web object folder should contain an html file and your swf. ..If you want it to open inside Presenter, there are limits to how big the web object can be by the Presenter panel and you will get scroll bars. I think I found I could use 820 x 560 for resolutions 1024x768 without getting scroll bars and publishing in locked scale view. |

If you don't want to go to a web page, but just an swf file outside of the presentation, use a hyperlink to "Existing File or Web Page" but in the address just put the name of your file report.swf
Then when you build your presentation, you need to copy the report.swf into the root folder of your presentation alongside the player.html. This works a treat for me. Email me if you want more info 'david.taylor@mitek.com.au' NYC_Chris is right, but I'm not sure how you establish the paths correctly using the web object so I stumbled on this, and it works. |

Or you can add the swf as an attachment, and then insert a hyperlink within your slide to data/downloads/your_swf_name_here.swf
You don't have to have the attachments tab displaying to use the attachments feature. |
