Lightbulb player skin modifications

I would really like the .fla's for the player skin since we would like to make player conform to our presentations, intranet look, and internet image. I can not do this with the limited options that are currently available.

How do I go about doing this?

The only FLA files you would receive in the SDK are the one's that are in the SDK. There are no other FLA files available for the SDK.

Flavio,

That is wonderful. What are all the files that you had to modify to change the player?

Thank you,

I don't see any navigation buttons, I understand this is a prototype, but it seems to be only one slide. . It does look great..

@macsr4me,

For this player, I changed the ast_remote, and added a swf file with my custom player. To enable fullscreen mode, I had to change the flashcommand.js file too.

There's a several of steps to build a custom player. A post will not be enought to explain that.

This is a only a beta version. I can't use this on my courses, because the fullscreen message "Press esc to exit full screen mode" is a flash player message. So, I can't change it. I'm on Brazil and there's no way to localize that.

Another issue: the fullscreen mode, for security reasons, disallows the keyboard to prevent phishing.

-------------------------

@mindchip try to reload the flash. It might work.

Flavio,

Thank you. that helps me get started. It seems if you use the floating palette that comes with the SDK, or just created your own palette with full screen and regular buttons, that would solve the esc problem.

Thanks,

Very nice Flávio,

I am not sure how important the Full screen button is (although it is a nice touch) but I like the player controls to the left and right. It reminds me of the Kineo player (which was also very cool) in that there seems to be a player placed on top of the Articulate player. Well done! It would be great if we could all start building custom players and show the non-SDKs what they are missing!

Hi Dave,

The fullscreen feature was designed to fit a Digital Inclusion course. Using fullscreen, we take off all the distraction on the desktop and keep the focus only on the content.
This is why we use the big buttons to go forward and backward.
