I noticed in the recent AO release notes that there was "Added Articulate Online API functionality." What is this API and is this something we can access (kind of like the SDK)?
Thanks, Phil |

Good question, Phil! And funny you should ask.... I'd been planning on doing this blog entry today.

Indeed! And you know what? At precisely the same moment you wrote that (3:43pm EST), one of our support engineers (Brian) said the same thing to me in an IM (in a different context)!
What are the chances? Well, I guess pretty good for those of us with great minds. ![]()

Maybe this could help solve some issues?
1. When will be able to have a generate a complete report in AO including: Time, name, score, duration, address...) at this time we have to export and merge reports. We should be able to have the option to customize our reports. AO has to be more flexible. 2. We need to merge an existing database with AO. Any idea? We're willing to work (and pay) anyone that can help us resolving these issues. Christian |

Christian,
Regarding your desire to generate a complete report, check out: http://www.articulate.com/blog/artic...-110-released/ Articulate Online now allows a much-requested feature to include full user profile information in exported CSV/XML reports: Want more than just basic user details in your exported reports? Enable this new feature and your reports that contain user info will provide you with comprehensive user data. See if that gets what you want. Regarding item 2, what items are you looking to import? |

Are there plans to update the API to allow access user status vis-a-vis presentations and quizzes?
My example is that I'd like to be able to know *through the API* whether a specific user has passed a specific quiz (or viewed a specific presentation or how far into the presentation they got or how far into the quiz) and while I can get that info through the reports, I'd like to be able to through the API. Another example: I'm looking to write is a scheduled task that at the end of the day would pull down all users, check to see who had passed a certain quiz, change their AO Group settings, and then send them an e-mail describing what I just did. ("Congratulations on passing Quiz 101 today. As of now, you can access additional training information found in Presentation 201 and then take Quiz 201"). As far as I can tell, this can only be done manually in AO right now. Thanks. |

Hey Kevin,
We will always consider customer suggestions for inclusion in future versions of our product. Thanks for sharing your request...I can't guarantee that this will be implemented, but it is definitely something we will consider.
