Smile Embed a Quizmaker quiz into Engage interaction?

Hello ~

I would like to embed a Quizmaker 2 quiz into an Engage interaction.

I published the Quiz as a swf file and embedded it into my Engage interaction...but, it doesn't run when I view the interaction. I'm guessing that there's a folder that needs to be moved from one place to another to make this work. I've experimented with this a bit, but can't figure out how to make it work.

Any ideas?

I am trying to embed an engage interaction into another engage interaction. I am looking at Doofdaddy's instructions but I am confused by Step 3. Should I "insert the SWF from A" as a Media file?

Hi Thomasina,

You might want to look at this post I wrote too about inserting an Engage publication into the Glossary interaction. The principle is the same and it could clarify your misunderstandings.

Embedding Engage Interactions into Glossary

Hi Rob. I do hope you can help me. I am trying to embed a guided image into a process in Engage. I insert the guided image flash file into the process interaction by using the Add Media button. After I publish, I follow Daveperso's instructions for copying the folder and file into the process folder. After I publish, I still cannot view the embedded interaction.

Hi Tmbradb,

I'm on holiday at the moment so cannot help you by presenting you with a clearer example. I have never tried to embed a guided image into a process but I presume it is possible. Have you tried doing it with the glossary like I explained?

When you publish, what do you see? Are you getting the swirling engage loading image at least?

Like I said, the principle should be quite straightforward ! I stress 'should'
  1. First create your guided image and publish to the web.
  2. Find the published folder and check that it is indeed the right one by clicking on engage.html. You should see your published interaction.
  3. Then go ahead and produced your process interaction. Choose where you want to embed your swf (introduction or process 1 or 2 etc], click 'Add Media' and then locate the engage.swf in your published guided image folder. Go ahead and publish to web or to presenter.
  4. Now, bring the engage_content folder from your guided image interaction and put it IN the engage_content folder of your published process interaction.
  5. Change the name of this engage_content folder to reflect the name of the swf which is already in this folder. (I don't remember off hand the name of the swf file) and that's it!

Hopefully someone will explain better if you are still having problems. Of course it might be that embedding a guided image into a process but I would be surprised.
