1. Make your guided image interaction and publish it for the "web" or "CD". Once the interaction is published then rename the .swf file to something besides engage.swf. I recommend something like guide.swf. Then rename the "engage_content" folder to "guide_content". 2. Now make your process interaction. On slide one, import the guide.swf file into the media area. 3. Publish your process interaction to the Web or CD. 4. Now open the folder to which you just published your process interaction. Then open the engage_content folder. You will see a file entitled swf1.swf. This file is your guide.swf file that engage has renamed to swf1.swf. To make this .swf file work you now only need to copy and paste your guide_content folder into this engage_content folder. Now rename the folder you just pasted to "swf1_content". There you go... Is anyone able to respond to the original question (embedding a Quizmaker quiz into an Engage interaction) via this forum?

I just tried it with the Media Tour interaction...you can do it...although I have not thoroughly tested for any flakiness. Here's how you can make it happen...

Hi all,
Thank you for your tips on this topic thus far, the thread has been very helpful. Spectre, I followed your instructions to embed my Quiz into an engage media tour, and it now displays the question. Unfortunately, when I answer the quiz and click "Submit" the screen goes grey, no feedback is provided and I can not move forward from this point. Has anyone else had this problem? Any tips? |

Hi Kevin,
The only way I have found how to do this is to have the quiz open in a new window. I wrote an article about this on my blog recently which you can see here: How to add a Quizmaker Quiz to Engage Regards

Hi Dave,
I took a look at the blog and that worked fine, however we really require that the quizmaker opens within engage. We have an engage file within presenter, and we need to put a quiz into slide 5 and 10 of our engage interaction as the learner progresses throughout our course so they are continually being tested, therefore reinforcing their learning. We are afraid that if a new window opens when they come to a new page they will get disorientated and lose track of what module or slide they left from. Is there any other solution you or anyone on your team or here in the forums can think of to resolve this. Below is a rough layout to give you an idea of our navigational structure. We have 7 modules(7 engage interaction files within presenter) with each engage file comprising of 10 - 15 slides. Two quizes for each module on slide 5 and at the end of the module. ![]() Any suggestions, ideas or help greatly appreciated. Thanks Again, Kevin |

Hi Kevin,
I haven't found a way of make an embedded quiz in Engage work so if we assume that this is not possible, it looks like you will have to combine Engage and Quizzes (maybe have two Engage interactions per module with a quiz in between and at the end) and put up with the fact that when the person is in the quiz, they won't be able to navigate out as per your layout, but will be required to finish. Or else, just put a quiz at the end of each module? If you had the SDK you could link out of the Engage interaction to a quiz but I don't know a way (although there may be one) to link back from the quiz to a particular step in an interaction which is what you would want to do. ie. step four link to the quiz, finish the quiz and link back to step 5. I'll see if I can find out if such a thing exists although it would be via the SDK. Regards

TBH, why not have a PPT slide at the end of each module which is a quizmaker quiz instead of trying to insert it within engage? or, If you must keep the structure you've outlined above then I would mimmic it in powerpoint using buttons & hyperlinks that navigate to specific slides (/sections of the course). You will have to provide a button to get to the right place though, and then the whole thing becomes messy... ![]() |
