Has anyone succeeded in Embedding one Interaction in an other? Here is what I am trying to do. I want to use an Engage Menu and in one of the tabs in that menu I want to play a Engage Process.
Has anyone figured out a way to to that yet? Will it be a feature added to later builds. We are in the trial period right now trying to determine if this product will fill our needs. Thanks, Donald |

During late beta testing of Engage, some of us suggested that very thing--having a Engage menu function for handling multiple Engage interactions. Not sure if Articulate plans to do that or not in the future but I think it would be a valuable feature. It could probably be done somehow with Articulate Presenter but I haven't had a chance to test it. And I wouldn't be surprised if someone else here figures out something. There's a very creative bunch of users here. - Gerry Last edited by GerryWaz : 10-27-2006 at 05:03 PM. |

I've been trying to use Presenter to get it to work, but not had any luck so far. If I get it to work I will post it here. If anyone else has any ideas I would love to hear them.

Did it. Pretty simple to do. However, every time you publish you have to redo the steps.

Here's a screen shot. The buttons worked. Of course you need to consider the size restrictions. Embedding inside might not be the best option.

I learned something as well. That's what is so great about communities of practice. Not only did we learn, we also have an artifact so that the next new person can learn a little faster.

This is GREAT!
Though I still think this is something Articulate should address with Engage itself. As I've said before (and will keep on doing), Articulate products are marketed to appeal to the non-programmer types. We need things as easy and as intuitive as possible for these folks. I was actually looking at Acura's web site and how they use Flash to show a new car's features when the need for a Engage interaction that could capture or be a menu for multiple Engage interactions hit me. While not as elegant as custom Flash, it could still be very effective. On the plus side, Articulate has a great track record for this and for listening and for responding so I'm hopeful. - Gerry |

I had different requirement but this triggered the answer. In a SCORM package we needed to launch several Engage interactions. The problem was copying them into a single directory.
I've renamed each engage.swf to a unique name and then renamed the corresponding engage_content folder to uniquename_content. I can then copy all the Engage interactions into the content\projects\res\library part of the SCORM package without the animations destroying eachothers resources!
