Buttons are a visual element that should reinforce the look and feel of your content—and with Articulate Storyline®, you have quick and easy options to perfectly pair your buttons with your course. Fill your buttons with a color from your course’s theme palette, or create a custom look that fits your specific design scheme. Either way, here are three quick tips for adding a little zest to your Storyline buttons.

Try Built-In Button Styles

The Button Tools menu in Storyline includes a number of built-in formatting options. Just double-click your button, then look in the Button Styles area to choose the color, line style, and fill effect for your button. It’s a snap!

Cool Tip: The button colors you see are linked to your course’s color theme. To see even more options, click the Design tab and select Colors. When you choose a new color theme, your Button menu will display your new color options.

Fill with an Image … or Nothing at All

If your button needs a specific texture, look, or feel to coordinate with your design, you can use an image sample from your course and apply it to your button. Or, if you already have the perfect background on your slide, simply make your button transparent so your design shows through. Watch this screenr to see how easy it is to use a background with your buttons:

Accessorize with Icons

Another way to customize buttons is to add an icon from the options included with Storyline. From the Button Tools area, choose an icon from the Button Icons section and apply it to your button—see how:
