As our international customers can attest, one of the many reasons that Articulate Presenter is such a great tool is its ability to convert to Flash Unicode characters, including DoubleByte sets like Japanese and Chinese.
There are several important steps to successfully publish with Articulate Presenter a non-Western font from PowerPoint to Flash:
- Set your character set option to Non-western. Articulate -> Options -> Language.

- Ensure that you have the correct font installed on your system. Start -> Control Panel -> Fonts. Just because the font displays properly in PowerPoint does not mean that the font exists on your system. You’ll also want to double-check the font you’re using in PowerPoint by selecting the text — not just the box in which the text resides — and verifying the font in the PowerPoint font menu. If the font is installed on your system, you should also see a preview of the font in the menu.

- Set your Regional Options to correspond to the language you’re using. Start -> Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options.

- In most cases, you should now be all set. However, if you’re working with a language that reads from right to left, you’ll also want to check the corresponding box in the Languages tab of the Regional and Language Options control panel:
That’s it! What you see in PowerPoint should now properly convert to Flash via the magic of Articulate Presenter.

Er, how do you get to the screen in item 1 above? Is that part of PowerPoint? There is no Articulate Presenter program showing on the desktop. It just shows up as a button on the PowerPoint menu bar on top. “Language” does not appear anywhere. It is not even part of of the HELP file!
I cannot publish my Chinese language slide, although I can see them in PowerPoint.
Thanks in advance for your comments.
