Locals Only
If you live or have ever lived in a city, you know what a headache sitting in traffic can be. But you probably know all the locals’ shortcuts that can help you circumvent the backup.
Faced with an Articulate Presenter backup? Does your publishing process ever just stop, like that city traffic, and you just can’t seem to get around it?
The number one item to check when you hit backup is whether all your content resources — your PowerPoint file, images such as the presenter photo and custom logo, any audio files you may be importing — are on your local drive (C, in most cases). Resources sitting on network drives can cause stalling.
Articulate Presenter needs those local resources (like your favorite city shortcut through the alleyway) to keep on cruisin’. If AP is happy, then I’ll bet you will be, too.

I agree with what you are saying; however, my fear of working on my local drive when developing an Articulate presentation is that my local drive will get corrupted and I’d lose everything.
I have a project that was developed by a third-party vendor for which I am responsible for maintaining. One thing I found is that when I copied the source files to my drive, all the articulate files had to be relinked. Why does this happen?
Hi Colleen- are you using Presenter ’09? If so, we recommend using the Presenter Package feature to move files around and ensure all file links remain intact.
