Today we released Studio ’09 Update 5, a significant product update that includes support for H.264 MP4 video, a new and improved update process, and 60+ enhancements and bug fixes across all of our desktop authoring tools.

What’s new?

Hi Cheryl- when you go to Help -> Check for Updates within any of the Articulate products, it should take you to this download page.

Hi Gabe,

Thanks for posting the link because the “check for updates” from the help section in Presenter returns “there are no updates available at this time”

I’m very excited about the fixes, especially the h264 video support and the “Fixed issue where slides become distorted when publishing really long presentations” which was a problem that I had and have submitted too tech support last month.

I’m very impressed on the quality of support Articulate has.

Congratulations on a great software and a superb customer support! Can’t wait to test the update!

Hi,

When I go to Help and check for updates, it states there are none available. Any thoughts as to why?

Julie- it sounds like your firewall may be blocking the check for updates. See my previous comment above for the download link.

One mor question about the upgrade. When I finished it, and opened up PowerPoint, I am now getting the trail version message and it asks me to continue. What is up with that? Did I do something wrong or is this a known problem?

Hi Tony- follow the same instructions you’ll find in this post (and in the comments). It’s a single installer, so you can update Presenter ‘09 (or any of the other products) using the Studio ‘09 installer.

I just downloaded Studio 09 Update 5 and I’ve notice that my previous engage interactions text and recording is missing.

So I made a new interaction and notice I’m not able to access the text box but the recording seems to be o.k.

Hi, Can you tell me what version number I should have after doing update 5? I have “V6.2.907.1413 Pro” Is that the latest? Thanks, Steve

HI Gabe,

I have just installed the latest update and went back into the module I was working on to find I have lost all Articulate Fonts – just about whole doc blank!! Has the Articulate font been removed? Do I need to manually change all text to a new font? I have found that PowerPoint is freezing and won’t progress to following slides in the file. I can jump to slides that are embedded interactions but not the other slides? Any suggestions? Quite concerning as I was ready to upload my program to Aerticulate online and not sure how much work is required to restore it.

I added the latest update and have an issue regarding bullets within Engage. I have bullets in between text. I want to increase the font so I highlight the entire text (paragraph and bullets) and my “normal” sentences become bullet points. It takes out all the formatting I’ve just done and I cannot “undo.” Please advise if the system is working as it should, if this is an issue, or if there is a way to take out this formatting.

Are all of the product updates incorporated into the current versions of Articulate. So, if I purchase the current version all the updates are already in it? Yes?

Excellent software. is it possible to reduce the Price rate for India and other developing countries (if possible).
We are missing the real good software only because of the rate.

We already have Studio ‘09. I just downloaded the update using the link you provided at the top: http://www.articulate.com/products/upgrades/studio09/20090714_1357.php

At the end it asked me to reinstall, add/remove programs, etc…so I just reinstalled.

It never asked me to run any update.

Do I have the update?

Hi Jennifer- yes, it sounds to me like you do. You can confirm you’re using Update 5 by going to PowerPoint -> Articulate -> Help and Support -> About Articulate Presenter. Presenter ‘09 Update 5 is 6.2.907.1413, which you should see in the About box.

There are a lot of problems with Articulate Presenter:
1. Audio missing
2. Audio overlapping
3. Lost of synchronized audios. Empty areas without areas
4. Lost of powerpoints images effects.

We are working hard on many elearning courses, and we are angry because we lost too much time.
When Articulate will fix this errors.
This bugs come from version 5 and 9, and I don´t understand why there is not a rapid solution ??

Same issue as Julie S. I downloaded the Studio 09 Update and Engage does not allow me to access the text box. Also, all previous text that was placed in the text box does not appear. Has it been lost???

Hello, I download the free trail software package and activate it online, but when I click the exe file to set up. it shows” It appears you have Microsoft Internet Explorer running, please close any open Microsoft Internet Explorer windows and click Retry” although the IE is closed.

Would you please help to find how to solve this issue?

Hi John- thank you for your purchase. Yes, if you purchased / downloaded Studio ‘09 any time after the date we released Studio ‘09 Update 5 (July 15, 2009), that is what you downloaded.

Maintenance updates for the current release are always free to existing license holders. Major upgrades are available at a discounted upgrade rate to current customers, or free to Platinum Membership Plan customers.

Hi Jim- you can create a Spanish version of your content, yes. Our ‘09 products have pre-installed language packs to translate the player text language for you (but not your actual training content; you’d need to do that).
