Congratulations to Prometheus Training Corporation, the Gold Winner of the First Annual Articulate Guru Awards!

The winner of the 2007 Guru Awards is the epitome of a professionally designed and produced training course that shows off the combined power of Articulate Presenter, Quizmaker, and Engage. Particularly impressive is the truly interactive and creative nature of the Engage interactions in allowing the user to take a series of self-ergonomic assessments (slides 11-15) that will have you sitting in the ideal position relative to your computer’s workstation in no time.
Other highlights of the winning entry from Prometheus Training Corporation include the clean aesthetics, the great use of Engage tabs (including a drop-down Help menu about using the course), the effective use of the Presenter attachments feature (note the player label modification from “Attachments” to “Checklist”), and the integrated assessments (check out the creative use of hotspot questions on slide 46).
Without further ado, here’s the winning entry, Office Ergonomics:

Here’s how Prometheus describes its entry:
If you work in an office, you know the aches and pains that come with a day at the computer. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Office Ergonomics gives office workers a suite of online tools to assess their own workstations, along with information they can use to understand their assessment results and begin to correct any ergonomic problems. Office workers whose problems are too severe for self-help are prompted to document problems on a downloadable worksheet, and use the worksheet as a springboard for discussing the problems with their Health & Safety Representative.
Prometheus Training Corporation’s Gold medal team includes the following contributors (from left to right in photo):
- Helene Geiger, instructional design
- Marcia Faulkenberry, instructional development
- Scott Schmeer, creative

We asked the team some questions about working with Articulate tools:
What are your favorite Articulate features?
Ease of use. Ability to add Engage interactions as a tab rather than as a slide. Ability to edit narration easily. Customizable navigational elements.
Do you have any tips for people getting started with Articulate products?
You can get a lot of good ideas from the Rapid E-Learning Powerpoint Template Kit that come with the Studio version of the software. We recommend doing your narration last, after you’ve locked down your content. The Word of Mouth Blog and the Community Forums are good sources for additional tips and tricks.
Why do you use Articulate products?
Articulate gives us a reliable platform that is easily accepted in a wide range of client environments. Its authoring tools allow us a surprising amount of creative latitude. Bottom line: Our clients love the training we design for them in Articulate!
What do you think about Articulate Rapid E-Learning Studio Pro?
Our clients want training that is robust, engaging, interactive, and precisely targeted to their unique requirements. Articulate gives us the tools to deliver, time after time.
Along with receiving the $1,500 grand prize cash award (and bragging rights), Prometheus Training Corporation has won two licenses of Articulate Rapid E-Learning Studio Pro 2nd Edition to donate to a non-profit of the team’s choice. They’ve selected Rochester, NY-based Lifespan.
Congrats, Prometheus Training Corporation!

Great job and congrats! That is, by far, one of the best demonstrations of the Articulate tool set that I’ve seen. Outstanding. As a matter of fact, I am forwarding the link to some of our clients so that they can see what can be made with Articulate.
