When I saw the Articulate Forums post count inching toward the 10,000 post mark today, I couldn’t resist posting the thread that would mark post number 10,000.

Forums 10,000th Post

This is a significant milestone that we’ve reached in just over a year since the forums publicly launched. Congrats to the entire Articulate Community for making the forums such a vibrant, informative, and interesting part of the Articulate experience!

The forums have allowed you to connect directly with one another, exchanging ideas, providing peer support, and helping us connect with you on a personal level so that we really get a sense of what’s important to you in our products.

Much of what you see incorporated into our current and future product offerings is based directly on the conversations we watch in our forums. So keep up the great work!

To mark this milestone, I thought you might like to see some of the behind-the-scenes forum growth over the past year:

Thank you to everyone who’s made the forums what they are!

The one thing you need to watch with registrations is that there are a lot of bots that autoregister accounts for spamming purposes.

Not only can this seriously inflate a forum’s membership figures, but unless you’re taking active steps to stop it you are also likely to have significant spam problems.

There are some good resources on anti-spam tools for vbulletin and email addresses to block here, in case of interest:

Thanks for the input and link, Brian.

We are very much aware and on top of the spam issue. The 10,000 post mark represents only legitimate posts, as several of us at Articulate actively monitor and delete any spam posts that may creep in.

The early registration numbers may be a bit skewed, but they’re pretty accurate recently since we now require email validation on all new registrations.
